Sustainability
and Society

ABF Stone is a responsible business that thinks and behaves in an ethically and socially responsible way internally, in its interactions with clients and on projects and beyond this too. As a responsible business we have the following initiatives.

Sustainability and the

circular economy

Through our services we endeavour to raise awareness of the positive contribution that using natural stone can make to reducing the embodied carbon associated with a building or hard landscaping, by adopting a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to material selection and design.

Natural stone offers a great starting point boasting zero embodied carbon at the source being created by nature rather than being manufactured. Beyond this, limiting the embodied carbon relies on a conscious effort being made to consider and understand the benefits of different design options along with the suitable sources of the stone and the appropriate methods of extraction, fabrication and installation.

Giving back to

the community

Through collaboration, research, knowledge sharing, educating and with an appetite to learn, we believe ABF Stone can contribute to a positive shift towards better designed and constructed projects that remain aesthetically pleasing whilst benefitting the environment and local community.

In addition, ABF Stone’s Director, Darren Anderson, is a volunteer for the charity Bookmark Reading and is supporting the local community by helping children to read at a local school.

Charitable

giving

ABF Stone will dedicate a portion of its profits to charities.

For 2024 we intend to support Great Ormand Street Hospital Charity and Samaritans, The Felix Project and Power the Fight

Through collaboration, research, knowledge sharing, educating and with an appetite to learn, we believe ABF Stone can contribute to a positive shift towards better designed and constructed projects that remain aesthetically pleasing whilst benefitting the environment and local community.

Together, we discover
what's possible.
